The Prado 120 Series is a proven, capable 4WD — well suited to K'Gari's sand tracks, creek crossings and beach driving. Comfortable for up to 7 passengers and with enough storage for your luggage and gear. All vehicles are prepared and checked specifically for K'Gari's conditions before every hire.
Safety briefing included. Every hire includes a comprehensive pre-departure briefing — 4WD technique, sand driving, tyre pressures, creek crossings and K'Gari driving restrictions. No prior 4WD experience required.

self-drive looks like.
This is a suggested guide only — with your own 4WD you set the pace. Full itineraries, maps and tide times are included with your booking.

- Safety briefing before departure
- Self-drive north to River Heads (~3.5 hrs)
- Board the 45-minute ferry to K'Gari
- Drive to your first campsite or accommodation
- Drive 75 Mile Beach at low tide
- Swim at Lake McKenzie
- Float down Eli Creek
- Stop at the Maheno Shipwreck
- Walk Central Station rainforest
- Explore any missed spots or remote areas
- Head back to the ferry terminal
- Return crossing to River Heads
- Drive back to Geebung
- Return vehicle before midnight

$5,000 refundable security bond required at vehicle collection. Processed as a credit card pre-authorisation — a physical credit or debit card is required. Fully released after your hire provided the vehicle is returned in accordance with the rental agreement.

Available from 8:00am, 7 days a week. Return before midnight on last hire day.
Vehicle ferry departs from River Heads, near Hervey Bay (~3.5 hrs from Brisbane).
Arrive at least 20 minutes before your booked departure. Crossing is approx. 45 minutes.
Minimum 2-day hire applies. Calculated in calendar days — not 24-hour periods.
Multi-day hire available for longer trips.
Prado 120 is comfortable for up to 7 passengers.
All drivers must attend the pre-departure safety briefing.
Refundable $5,000 bond required at collection.
